We had a wonderful time meeting all of the soon-to-be kindergarteners and their families at the Gladstone Center for Children & Families. Connect to Kindergarten on April 14 brought families from across Gladstone and beyond to discover what they can expect in the coming school year, including free breakfasts and lunches, play-based learning, recesses and riding the school bus. Thanks to the bond that Gladstone voters approved in 2006, we were able to invest in early childhood learning — converting an abandoned grocery store into this beautiful GCCF building. But the most beautiful part is getting to see 5-year-olds grow, make friends, and become voracious readers and academic explorers.
Thank you to Gladstone Public Library for joining us in welcoming soon-to-be kindergarteners and their families to the Gladstone Center for Children & Families. Connect to Kindergarten brought families of 5-year-olds and nearly 5-year-olds to discover that kids can get library cards, in addition to discovering all of the wrap-around services offered at GCCF. We appreciate the partnership with Libraries in Clackamas County, along with all the other partners who bring wraparound services to GCCF, to help make sure all Gladstone students love reading!
