Gladstone Schools recently hired Yvonne Villa as the district’s HR specialist responsible for recruitment, on-boarding of employees, records management, licensure compliance reporting, training, employee handbook, contract negotiations, and a host of other activities to provide overall support to licensed, classified, non-represented and administrative staff.
Villa said she's excited to be joining the Gladstone School District team to collaborate, contribute and make a positive impact together.
“I chose Gladstone because I have a genuine passion for public service and education, and both have been such important parts of my journey,” Villa said.
Villa brings a wealth of experience to this Gladstone position. She led talent development efforts for Washington County from September 2022 until she began working for our school district on July 1. As a county employee, she coordinated candidate offers, conducted background checks, drafted offer letters, verified references and ensured new hires completed onboarding paperwork.
Prior to her time in Washington County, Villa worked for Mt. Hood Community College for nearly five years. During that time, she managed recruitment efforts for all vacant positions, performed a variety of executive-level administrative support functions and streamlined hiring processes while processing selected candidates through the criminal background registry and verifying references.
Villa has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Portland State University and earned her associate’s degree in business administration from MHCC.
Villa is known for her strong work ethic and organizational skills that help public agencies navigate complexities and prioritize a positive culture. We’re glad to welcome her to Gladstone!
