John Wetten Elementary's second grade students had a wonderful time with the Oregon Reptile Man, aka Richard Richey, who brought exotic reptiles from around the world as educational ambassadors. Oregon Reptile Man visits JWE annually, thanks to support from the Gladstone Education Foundation and JWE Parent Faculty Organization.
Richey, who has been showing his reptiles across the state for decades, says he always appreciates the energy and enthusiasm that he sees from students in Gladstone. As second graders exited the exciting presentation, one brave student volunteered to hold the cobra so other students could pet it on their way out of the school's gymnasium.
