Gladstone School Board members voted unanimously to appoint Regan Geiger to a vacant seat on Oct. 14.

Geiger brings a unique and diverse perspective to our school board. A Gladstone resident and a woman of color, she has been a teacher for 15 years serving both her home and work communities while raising her two children through Gladstone schools.

“I am invested in not only my children’s education, but also the education of Gladstone students as a whole,” she said.

Geiger currently serves as an elementary music teacher in the Hillsboro School District, and in addition to her classroom duties, she handles Hillsboro’s beginning band budget as a teacher on special assignment. As a member of committees in Hillsboro focused on equity and restorative culture, she spearheaded an initiative to eliminate the use of the N-word in academic settings.

“The Gladstone mission very much aligns with how I have spent my teaching career,” she said. “Every student can learn, and schools need to prepare students to be adults, whether they attend college, trade school or enter a working profession. Every student deserves the support that they need to succeed. I teach my students not only music, but about life, how we treat others and to embrace our differences.”

Please join us in welcoming Geiger to our school board!
