For the Love of Literacy offered Gladstone Center for Children & Families students a meaningful opportunity to show their parents the rich learning happening within our classrooms. During the event, families got the chance to engage in literacy alongside their children as students made bracelets with beaded words, Valentine’s cards and Play-Doh “cookies” with special messages, plus every family got to pick out a free book to take home.
This focus on celebrating literacy comes at a perfect time. Our youngest learners across the school district have demonstrated remarkable reading growth since the beginning of the school year. At GCCF, we are especially proud of the balanced approach that supports children as readers, writers, thinkers and creators within a joyful, play-based environment. Our child-centered, caring community reflects the very best of what a kindergarten experience can be, and it is a program our community can be proud of.
Our Gladstone Teaching Preschool program continues to thrive with full enrollment and a waitlist of interested families, further demonstrating the strong reputation and demand for our program within the county. In the coming weeks, we will begin the registration process as we plan and prepare to welcome our future GCCF kindergartners for the 2026-27 school year.
