Oregon Battle of the Books generated a lot of excitement for reading at John Wetten Elementary. OBOB is a statewide voluntary reading motivation and comprehension program sponsored by the Oregon Association of School Libraries in conjunction with a Library Services and Technology Act grant. Special thanks to tournament moderators Julie Kempster and Kim Burke to Hilary Miller who worked weekly with Torrie Dowdy coaching the fifth grade teams, and Principal John McAndrews worked with Krista Stevens coaching the fourth grade teams.
