The Gladstone School District is excited to welcome back Jammie Landis, who has deep ties to John Wetten Elementary, as the future principal of the school.

As someone deeply committed to the Gladstone community, Landis said she’s honored to have the opportunity to bring her passion and experience to Wetten Elementary’s leadership role. She said that every decision she makes as principal centers on what is best for students.

“I believe that a strong school is the heart of a thriving community, and I am eager to contribute to JWE’s continued success by fostering an inclusive, supportive and student-centered environment,” she said.

Landis has agreed to lead Gladstone’s elementary school starting in the coming school year to replace John McAndrews, the principal for the past two years who recently announced his intention to return to family in Nebraska.

While working at Wetten from 2016 through 2022, Landis taught first, fourth and fifth grades. She was our Summer School coordinator, a leader on the school's Professional Learning Community team and served as a leader on our Equity Committee.

Landis left Gladstone to pursue administrative roles, first as assistant principal in Oregon City’s John McLoughlin and Gaffney Lane elementary schools. More recently, she has been an assistant principal of restorative practices in the David Douglas School District, where her leadership impacted student belonging, family engagement, professional development for certified and classified staff, and social and emotional learning development.
