Letter from the Principal

Dear JWE Family and Friends,

May is just around the corner and yet students still have so much to do and learn before we send them off for the summer. I am proud of the accomplishments of both students and staff. It is exciting to see the growth that many of our students have made from just a few short months ago. The best part of my job is to observe students reading, writing and engaged in "learning" conversations. Teachers provide numerous ways for students to show us what they know from presentations to projects to on-line assessments. No matter the way, our students are working hard and doing a great job.

Speaking of a great job… our students read more than 1,853 books between March 16th and April 19th for our Pause for Paws school-wide reading challenge. Awesome!

It is exciting news that on May 18th from 5:30-8:00 our school will be hosting a Literacy Carnival. JWE families are invited to attend as we share our love of literacy through carnival games, activities and food. We are grateful for a dedicated group of PFO parents who tirelessly volunteer their time and talent to support such fun student-centered events. Stay posted for more information as May 18th draws closer.
