Gladstone High is a comprehensive four-year school serving approximately 720 students in grades nine through twelve. The students follow a 5-period day with a single lunch. The school year consists of three trimesters whereby students can earn 7.5 credits per year. Five 73 minute classes are taken each trimester and the teachers teach four classes with one preparation period.
Recognitions include having four teachers on staff who are Nationally Certified. GHS made AYP (Average Yearly Progress), a national academic standard in 2009. Gladstone School District and GHS are recognized throughout the state as being innovative and achieving academic results.
Gladstone offers a balanced curriculum with offerings in college preparatory, technical education, second language, and fine arts. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit in a variety of annual classes through Clackamas Community College. On-line courses are also made available to students.
Gladstone High is accredited through Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. In athletics and other league-type activities, GHS competes in the 4-A Capitol Conference with North Marion, Cascade, Stayton, Molalla, Estacada and LaSalle.
GHS has gone through an extensive facility renovation and addition program. The funds came from the passage of a school bond in November of 2006. New facilities include band, science and applied technology rooms. Other newly remodeled facilities include the media, business and student commons areas, football field, track, and upgraded classrooms.
